Newsletter July 8th, 2010 Sundae Philadelphia

Royal visit

Last week was a great way to celebrate our nations birthday.  Del, Glenn & Lonely did Philly proud.  The mixes from last week will be up by this weekend.

That said, King Britt will be spinning Sundae Philly all by himself.  While we have been treated to the dynamic, dynomite brothers in summer's past, this time King is going to do it solo.  I've had the opportunity to hear and spin with King overseas and when he is alone in front of a crowd.....its just magical.  With the success of his tracks on the HBO series True Blood, King is very much in demand for studio work, movie soundtracks and rocking the dance floor. This will be a rare appearance for him and one that he is looking forward too.  This weekend the heatwave is over and the humidity will be cut in half!! So I look forward to seeing all of you at Octo for the official Royal visit.

Next week : Josh Wink & Andy Caldwell

Is there anything really left to say about next week?

Come on????

This is the only Metropolitan gig either one are doing for the rest of the season.  So we are getting calls from Boston to DC about this pairing of talent.

Josh Wink will be celebrating 15 years of Ovum music and many of us have been with him on this journey.  He has brought additional fame to the city of Brotherly Love and next week, we look forward to sharing the dance floor with you in paying some respect back to the Dj.

Andy Caldwell has rocked many of the other Sundae parties globally and actually phone me up to see if he could squeeze in a date.  Our answer was - why of course!!  Silk City has been an amazing vibe all summer and Andy will only make it better.

Sundae would be happy to have either one of these guys individually, but to have them on the same night...Priceless.

Attn : we will not be recording the sets next week, so if you want to hear the magic you will have to show up in person.  For those outside the Philly area, we will be streaming live to Europe and S.E. Asia.  More details below.

This week at Silk

NEW Sundae App

As you may already know, millions of Iphone 4s have hit many countries over the past weeks.  If you are lucky enough to get one or if you have a 3GS phone, there will be a major update to our operation system next week.  I will be heading out to learn more about the details and will explain what is coming up in next weeks email blast.  If the team can produce half of what they are dreaming, it will be a whole new platform of fun.  I would like to take the time to thank everyone who has spread the word about the app.  It is still a top seller in the Itunes store and continues to rank in the top app for various markets.  Thank you all.

Those with an older or another operating system, there will be some smaller features available to your phones too.

Streaming to backyards & offices

In the past couple of weeks, Sundae has been pushing the envelope of available technology forward.  Many of you enjoyed the live video stream of our party last week, but brought up a valid point.  What about just sound?

This week and for the month of July, Sundae will be beta testing a new streaming service that is (currently Ad Free)!!!.  Mixlr is a new company out of the UK and has been working around the clock to prepare for King Britt's streaming set this week.  So many of you have helped us over the past week with the testing via facebook and the main website...Thank You!!

For our Sundae fans across the seas, we will be attempting to get the stream steady enough to handle the demand.  We will begin broadcasting around 5pm EST and will be recording till about 10:30.  If everything goes well, we will continue from Silk City with Dozia's set.   THIS IS IN A BETA VERSION, so any problems or praise you encounter will be greatly appreciated.

Tonight is one of our final test and if you want to get a feel for this easy interface, check out our FEED HERE.  we are going to try to stream in two 10 hour session - to try an simulate a Sundae event.  This service is free to the Sundae family.
