Still seems not to be real. I would have thought with in 72 hours of the election, I would be used to it by now. I am not. I don't think many people reading this have truly taken it all in. I can only speak for myself, it feels different.
I participated in history. I made history. I voted. If you voted for President Elect Obama or not, you too made history. If you had the opportunity to vote and passed it up. Shame on you. When we reflect on every thing positive and negative from Nov. 4, 2008 on, what do you say? Its a shame, that you don't care enough about yourself to speak up. Perhaps you will have the courage to do so in 2012.
To my fellow Pennsylvanians, thank you, It was a little scary here the few weeks before the election. Mccain had just moved into our rural areas and camped out. But in the end, the tide turned when the news agents called PA in favor of Obama. To everyone that did something a little extra for either party, Thank you for keeping our Democracy working.
On Sundae's YES WE DID party. I am so glad that I had the chance to stand at the dawn of history, watch the sun rise on a new administration, a new culture of people and walk into the day light of change and opportunity with so many of you. The night was just magic. Too actually have people of all races and backgrounds in one room for one reason. To have survivors of the Civil Rights Movement and the benefactors of their sacrifice together. To have non Americans standing on every word coming off the multi screens, Iphones and texts beaming in election results. And for that unexpected moment when all we were expecting was the closing of the polls on the West coast to see the election called!!!!! Everyone just exploded inside and out of Marbar. It is just hard to put in to words.

Hello everyone:
Thanks to your feedback, the new Sundae Website has taken off beyond our wildest dreams. The Photo Galleries have been updated and the few bugs in the Video Gallery have been addressed. We have also added a massive amount of events to our calendar, so please make sure to bookmark that page to keep yourself informed on everything Philly. For those throwing a WEEKLY party in the city please hit us back with your details and we will post them for you.
If you have any Youtube Videos of Sundae you would like to see added to our library please forward the links to us, too.
Concerning the Download section - we are in the process of developing a Members Only section that will have more features available. Please keep an eye out in 2009 for this phase to launch. Until then, you can still stream the music 24 hours a dae. We are still catching up with updating the music, so keep looking back for updates.

Marbar has become a fast favorite with our Sundae Crowd. The space is all workable dance floor, the sound system is in the process of being Sundae-fied & we have a baby powder station for the breakers to powder the soles of thier sneaks. The drinks are the cheapest in Sundae history (a premium bar is being established) and the food selection is crazy.
So how can we make it better?

This week a Sundae Veteran is coming in to rock the place. Rich is all hyped up in the new world of Obama and is ready to give you a little tutorial on the Poli-Sci of Dance Music. This global tour of House, Afro Beat, Soul and just straight up Party Jams will be starting early. Rich has a habit of walking in the joint and jumping on the tables. Please arrive early, to get you space on the dance floor.
Parents - bring your kids and make a full day out of the event. You can take them to see a movie downstairs first, then grab a bite to eat in the Restaurant and then tire them out with a healthy dose of dancing.
So I'm looking forward to see you all there this week and remember, we do reserve the right to keep dancing till two AM. Depends on how long Rich want to teach class.

This week will also be stellar. King Britt and Dozia have collaborated on a new project and have chosen Sundae to be the world premier. With the aid of 4 Pioneer cdj's and two powerful mixer units. King and Dozia will become for the first time in public the Dyomite Brothers.
Basically you will have two DJ's spinning at once - so at any time, instead of hearing two songs being blended together - you may be hearing up to six tracks being layers simultaneously together to make a brand new track.
The idea was sparked at the Sundae - Back 2 Basics party over this past summer and now with 3 months of rehearsals and experimenting, they go live before your eyes and ears this weekend.
Solo, these two DJs are amazing. Together they will be unstoppable. Make sure to wear some comfortable gear on Sundae and be ready to sweat
Along side the Dyomite brothers much anticipated set, we will celebrate a homecoming and a bon voyage.
DJ Dirty is flying back home from his first time appearance in Europe. I'm sure his ego will fully inflated and he will be anxious to play some new tracks from overseas. It will be an exciting time from beginning to end with Dirty's grand return to Sundae.
On another note. Chris (our door guy) has accepted a great job opportunity in Denver and this will be his last Sundae with us. However, he will not be working the door. He will be waiting for you to buy him his last drinks and for all the ladies and B-boys to dance with him all night.
So it looks like there are three reasons to come to Sundae this week.
it is going to be a 'smashing time" (I've been talking to Dirty and picking up his fake British Accent!!!!)

Thanksgiving Sundae weekend - keep this date marked because we have another home coming of sorts for one of our favorite B-more DJ's.
Adam Auburn will be flying in from his new home in LA and after spending some time with his biological family, he will be heading up to Philly to party with his House family. More details to next week.
Spinning in our first Sundae in December will be Lars Behrenroth, another Sundae fav. The cosmos just came together and he said he would be close to the East Coast and we had a vacancy in our calendar. So this should give enough of his groupies time to schedule accordingly
NEW YEARS EVE 2008
By this Sundae - we should have all the details wrapped up for New Years Eve 2009. This time we are hosting the PRIVATE Party at Apothecary. It is a brand new venue that opened earlier this year. It is located off the corner of 13th and Chestnut streets. It can hold about 350 people on both levels. However, we are stopping all ticket sales at 250 to give you room to groove.
We had an excellent time last year at Vango, but choose this year to concentrate on just a Sundae Crowd. No amateurs, only House Heads. Depending on our talent, tickets will be either $20 or $25. This is by far one of the cheapest parties in the city. Sundae is committed to quality not quantity and are not trying to take all your hard earned dollars, but give you an experience and a f**king great party.
Your purchased ticket, will get you a free drink on entry and there will be a "recession proof" drink menu with premium drinks at $6.00. Again, this is a very rare price for drinks in the down town metro area.
There will be two dance floors - one with a heated deck attached. If you are not a fan off House Music, this is not the party for you. If you are not a dancer, this is not the party for you. If you love to party, and dance the night away, this is the place to be.
In light of the limited tickets - which will go fast - we will send out another special email blast that will detail what is needed to gain tickets. The most important thing is to be on our email list. Those on the list will get first dibs and if they sell out there first, then there will be no more tickets. Tickets will be limited to 2 per person, in order to give everyone a fair chance at getting to the party.
There will be an after party at Pure - and a separate entry fee will be required. The after party is not a Sundae event, but a Sundae sponsored event.
IF YOU KNOW OF ANY SUNDAE FAMILY MEMBERS THAT ARE NOT ON OUR LIST - PLEASE HAVE THEM SIGN UP AT SUNDAEPHILADELPHIA.COM (on the first page in the top right corner)
For those that are looking into bottle service. we will have a very, very limited area on both floors - you will be given a menu to choose from and must purchase the selected packages in advance with a major credit card. Again, the prices will be typical Center City prices, but we don't want to waste the space if it is not needed. You will still need to purchase a ticket to the event.
ONCE WE HAVE REACHED 250 PEOPLE, THE EVENT WILL BE CLOSED. NO EXCEPTIONS, PLEASE HAVE YOUR MONEY READY NOW. WE MAY SELL OUT WITHIN THE FIRST WEEK, SO PLEASE MAKE SURE TO TELL ALL YOUR FELLOW SUNDAE FAMILY MEMBERS TO BE ON THE LOOK OUT.
IN THE EVENT YOU LOOSE YOUR TICKET - YOU WILL HAVE TO BUY ANOTHER AVAILABLE TICKET. IF THERE ARE NO MORE TICKETS - YOU ARE OUT OF LUCK.

This is an exclusive NYE announcement for our Sundae Philadelphia readers. After a few weeks of negotiations we have finally put together our new years eve 2009 party.
First, it is by your love on the dance floor that we were even able to entertain some of the worlds top DJs with an offer to play on this much in demand night. Thank you to all the managers, agents, publicists and just friends that took the time to work with us in this endeavor, I look forward to working with you again in 2009.
That said. Sundae is proud to announce jojoflores will be headlining the main room all night long!! Upstairs will be crushed by the tag teaming trio of Lee Mayjahs?, Dirty and myself. This will be a private - ticket only event, so please pay attention to the details.
1. $25.00 gets you in the door - with that ticket you will get a complimentary glass of Champagne.
2. Tickets will be on sale this Sundae at Marbar. 2 per person. From 5 - 8 PM only subscribers to our news letter will have access to tickets, first come, first served.
3. Tickets will be electronic and can be purchase at Marbar - via our computer system. Currently you must have a pay pal account to purchase tickets online. We are working on taking credit cards and hope to have it up and running by Sundae afternoon. If you are not familiar with pay pal - it is actually safer than using a credit card system and is free and easy to set up at home.
For our more senior customers - I would advise you to ask someone born in the late 80's on up to assist you in this process.
4. We are only selling 200 tickets to the event - once they are gone, that is it. Remaining tickets will be available via the website starting next Wednesday
5. Apothecary will have a large selection of tasty beverages available for sale and will also develop a drink specials menu where some of the drinks will be very inexpensive. Please note that Apothecary only serves premium liquor and specializes in very high end brands, so this means the drink specials will not be your typical busted booze.
6. For those that wish to bring the bling into the New Year - we have bottle service available - please contact the venue directly (2157357500) and note that you must purchase a ticket even with bottle service. Due to space limitations - you will be required to purchase bottle service in advance of the party on a valid credit card. I was just briefed on the bottle prices and they are madd crazy cheap. At this time we are only offering 4 tables for bottle service - the rest of the venue is for dancing.
7. Apothecary has a heated deck, 2 floors of dancing, 2 bars, hard wood floors - and a quick and friendly staff to accommodate many of your needs.
8. The party will start at 9 PM and go until 2 am. From 2am till 8am Pure night club will be hosting our after party. With proof (T.B.A) that you were at our party, you will be granted admission for 15 bucks.

10. This event is 21 & up. Dress code is sexy, but comfortable. Ladies - bring your cute shoes to walk around town in and your dancing shoes to ring in the new year.
There are a ton of restaurants directly next door and with in walking distance of the Venue, make a whole night of it by having dinner before hand with other sundae family members. Food will not be served in the venue. DO NOT PARK YOUR CARS ON 13TH STREET - THEY WILL BE TOWED BY THE CITY.
I can not stress how few tickets are available - last year at Vango we presold 500 tickets and about 400 more paid at the door. This year we are going for quality not quantity, so make sure to get your tickets this weekend.

As many people in Philly know, Thanksgiving Wednesday is the biggest night of the club year. Every single place in the city and its burbs will be totally packed......with armatures.
For a way better time with some really good music and a great crowd. Take a disco nap and wake up at midnight, shower, shave and head on over to Simplyfly's party. I've been hearing nothing but good things about this and I may even make a rare - T-day eve appearance to shake my groove thing on the floor.
This space is not huge, but larger than most places - it will sell out - so arrive early and consider it burning off calories before you sit with the family on Thanksgiving day.
Remember to BYOB - don't be cheap with yourself - you deserve something nice.

THE SECOND STORY is having the first reunion for those who attended regularly or occasionally; were members, worked there; worked in the business; never went... but HEARD; or for those new & old schoolers that just LOVE MUSIC!! In addition, THE after-hours spot in Philly (and YES, BEFORE the Paradise Garage), CATACOMBS... will also be honored as will all who went there or just those of you who wish you had!! We have already gotten confirmation that people living as far away as the UK and Italy will be attending!
