This weeks guest Dj

STARCHILD

special no work monday extended hours Sundae session

Sorry for last week.  My hard drives crashed and I had to get the good folks at Apple to come over and make things better.

That said - there is a ton of good stuff going on this week in Philly town.

Rich Medina is bringing the funk back to Fridays with his off the planet - Jump n Funk this week at Fluid.

Saturday - Venus 7 brings house music to Old City - at Prive - a new club off 3rd and Market. While on the other side of town Sean Thomas - holds it down at Smiths with his party Drum Song.  Each week at new guest DJ - last week DJ Del (one L - thank you) rocked it.

Sundae - We are back at the Bubble House and the weather will be great - Party inside, hang outside.  Take a break and catch Ursula Rucker at World Cafe Live - for her first concert in support of her new album collaboration with King Britt.  The After Party will be back at the Bubble House.

So a fun filled weekend.  Don't forget - Back 2 Basics at Silk on Monday too.

Now for some big news.

You may not have known, but as of Nov 2nd we are moving to our Winter Location at Marbar - Located at 40th and Walnut,  exactly 6.5 blocks west of the Bubble House.

Dirty and I had been looking at many venues for half the summer and along with your guidance, have chosen this to be our new home.

Marbar sits on top of Marathon Grill and the Bridge Movie Theater. It is across the street from the Fresh Grocer.  There is plenty of on street parking or you can use the garage across the street.  For those that stay past midnight we have special treat for you.  (you will have to find it out when you stay).

The place is big with lots of windows - lots of TV and a awesome sound system.  The drinks are very reasonable.

The everyday Drink Specials range from  - $2.oo High Life Bottles  to $15.00 buckets of Corona (Kathy will love that).

Lite fare is available at the bar and a full menu is offered at Marathon Grill below us.  I am really happy to announce a real kids menu.  18 items to choose from including PBJ sandwiches, hot dogs, quesadillas, Mac & Cheese, fresh fruit, pancakes & pizza.  Most items on the menu are under 7 bucks.

The Adult menus is 4 pages of food.  Everything for the meat lovers to the tree huggers to enjoy.

Our start time will be 4 PM now and we will go to at least 12:30 - the option to stay till two is always on the table.

The pricing will be the same - $5.  before 9 and $10. after.  Kids are free always.

The DJ line up for Marbar feels just like summer.

I am really excited about our newest edition to the Sundae Family Vikter Duplaix.  It has been a few years of criss crossing schedules, but we finally got him.  And what a great way to launch a new venue, than with a new artist.

Along with Rich and the Dynamite Brothers - Marbar is going to be FIRE.

And I am really freaking happy to announce

Since I've been voting & that's been since Thomas Jefferson,  I have never seen the avg person in the crowd at the victory party.  Not even "Joe Six pack".  So I have decided along with Dirty that we - the people that elected President Obama into office, should have our own party complete with balloon drop - banners and posters.  So mark you calendar for election night and as soon as the polls close in Philly - (8pm) the party will start.

We have 7 screens to show all the major TV networks broadcasts - and the Sci-Fi channel (I can't miss Eureka!!!).  And hopefully around 1 am EST, we will drop the big screen and turn off the music as President Barack Obama becomes the first Swirl of the World - oh and President of the United States too and make his acceptance speech!!!!!!.

This event is going to sell out. So you must have voted on that day or in this general election in order to get in. If you didn't cast your vote - sorry, "no soup for you".  It does not matter who you voted for - just that you had your voice counted.

Now with the last 20 or so days left - if you have not made up your mind, or even if you want the truth - I suggest CNN's Truth Squad - you can see if the words coming out of either candidates mouths are true, false or misleading either on CNN.com, CNN live or just youtube it.

There are tons of other media outlets to get this too, or you can just contact the Library of Congress which holds the achieves.

More to come on this party as it draws closer.

And stay tuned for our inaugural Ball party on Tuesday,  January 20th - it will be fancy dress like in DC.

So that is a lot to catch up on.

Now here are the flyers to this weeks hot parties.

Now the count down begins.
Line up announced in 2009

First let me make it clear - the election is not over.  A lot can change in the next two weeks.  Whomever you are voting for, make sure you do you part to get them into office.  There are a ton of commercials and smears going on - find out the truth and pass it on.  Make sure that you get your friends, family & strangers to vote.  Help the elderly and the jaded to the polling centers.  Some states can already vote, PA can not.  If you will not be around on election night, you can still cast an absentee ballot - I have done so in the past three elections.  You can also vote at your local American Embassy overseas - just phone up before hand

Too many people have died in order for us to have this right.  Don't waste it.

This week, Frank and I will be campaigning in Philadelphia.  Obama stole our thunder last week.  But this week Philly belongs to us.  Come hear our 5 point economic plan, our cure to the health care system and where we stand on foreign policy.  Make sure to drag your friends out.  There is no baseball or football this week, so it will be packed at the Bubble House.  Remember to grab your Vote for Sundae Pins - this will make it easier to get into our Nov 4th party.

Remember a vote for us is a vote

Next week, due to the world series - we will be changing up the line up and times.  Sean Thomas will be rescheduled later in the Winter and we will be opening up at 6 PM - the game will be shown on the big screen downstairs at the Spenser Michaels Sports Bar.  In the event of a home team win, Bubble House will be staying open till two.

After party still at lounge 125.

For a few weeks, you may have noticed that several parts of our web site have been taken off line.  Sundaephiladelphia.com is going under a major face lift.  I have just seen some of the new upgrades and I think you will enjoy our new stream lined look and feel.  We will be launching the new web site on Nov 4th at the Election party at Marbar.

With in the next two weeks - the entire site will be shut down including downloads and streams.  We will need to do this in order to transfer the massive amount of data over to our new platform.  For those that have access to our Mac site, this will still be up and running during the process. However, when the main site becomes fully active - the Mac site will in turn go under its own face lift.

AT OUR FAVORITE CANDIDATE

This is it folks, I am so excited about it.

Join me, Dirty and the Sundae family as we gather for this historic event.  As soon as the polls close in PA, the party starts in West Philly.

This event has even got the Obama people excited.

Since this party is for the people, we are expanding our musical selection even more for this event.

I will be rocking out the Disco classics and party traxs, Dirty will be rep'n the Hipsters, Lee Mayjahs? will be keeping it Sundae Sytle with House music and Mike Nyce will be adding for the first time - Hip Hop to the Sundae Formula.

Rich Medina - who was previously scheduled to play, has a conflicting gig in Europe & will not be able to fly back in time for our event.

Mike Nyce - has been rocking the scene for decade.  One of my favorite parties to attend is his Saturday night jawn at Fluid.  A party he trows in tandem with Fly Girl, Questlove and Yameen.  This party has been going on for years and is always packed with smiling faces and great - non commercial music.

Mike will be a welcomed addition to our Sundae Family - and will be ending the night with "GOOD - POSITIVE"  Hip Hop.  Hopefully, he will have the honor to spin the first Sundae set under President Obama.

We estimate that the election could be called at 7:59 PST - that 11 Philly time.    So it may be safe to say - that by 1am, News agents would have tallied up the votes and could make a safe bet on the election WINNER!!!!

Just in case - we have an after party at Pure - 13th and Locust that will keep rocking till the sun come up.

Grab your friends and family and bring them over to Marbar.  On this historic event, you don't want to tell your
Grand Kids that you were home on the couch when history was made.  Tell them you were out dancing in a new administration with the people you love.

Kids are welcomed, Drinks will be cheap and a full menu will be available till late in the evening.

There is plenty of parking in the garage - across the street.

Wear your pins - we expect this event to get crowed early...And will send people out to grab our regulars with pins first.
