OUR NEW SUMMER HOME

This year will will NOT be returning to the Bubble House.  Due to the cost of throwing the party over the summer we have decided to move to a venue that will absorb an enormous amount of those cost, so we do not have to pass them on to you.   

That said.  Sundae May 24th 2009, Sundae will move for the Summer Season to the brand new OUTDOOR Octo Waterfront Grille.  This used to be the home of Rock Lobster (for the old heads).  Lets tackle the basics first.

1.  There is free parking across the street until 7pm - at that point it will be valet, if your car is parked there ahead of time you are cool.

2.  The cover charge will remain the same $5. from 3 pm till 8pm $10. after - this is to keep encouraging you to join us while the sun is up.  Children under 15 will always get in free.
(there is one special event concert that we are planning that will be $10 bucks all day - but the kids still get in for free)

3.  I am fully aware that many of you  really love the Bubble House.  And think that this is where Sundae started.  For the record - we started the party at Le Jardin - smack dab in the middle of Rittenhouse Square and have moved to Multiple location since then.  
4.  Octo is completely child friendly and has been fully looked over by the state and national officials for safety.  (notice in the picture above that a floating dock is place around the entire complex.  

5.  A very impressive sound system is being installed now.  There is a large dance floor area and Stage (the new B-Boy/Girl grounds).  90% of the furniture moves out when more dance space is needed.

6.  The bathrooms are serviced by attendants,  The kitchen has a massive menu that includes lobster, steak, burgers & salads.  There is a dedicated seating area for food (complete with sound system) 

7.  In case of rain - the massive tent covers 50 percent of the complex and has side panels and heaters that can be used with in moments notice.
8.  Hoopers, Blowers, Skaters the works all have a place here at the party - Blowers will just have to do so outside of the tent.  Dirty and I have made sure to keep all the elements of our diverse family intact.

9.  There will be no VIP here at any Sundae party (unless you are in the Erica Barren or Mark B cabanas' - you know everyone is welcomed there)  Please do not be turned off by the artist renderings - this place looks nice and is nice because you deserve it, It is very much laid back and comfortable.

10.  For those that still have concern about the location - please let me remind you that on Saturdays - many of you attend the Mojito party on the Boat a few yards away from us.  Also Septa Blue line & buses run along here and I believe even the Summer Purple tourist buses do also.  It is the same distance from the El Stops to both our new and former Summer locations.  The vibe and the feel will Not be the same - cuz that changes every day when someone new shows up to the party.  

Please note that Dirty and I, along with all the others involved with Sundae behind the scenes has taken a lot of time to consider this move.  Most importantly was your comfort and well being.  This change will not be perfect, none are. However, please remember it was our concern about you & your best dancing comfort that lead us to Bubble House a few years ago.  Many of you never even knew the venue existed and would have never imagined going to a weekly party in West Philly.  Now  we boldly turn another page in Sundae.  I hope that you remember all the things that make Sundae special and will follow us to another Summer location.
